Your automated solutions

PLC programming, HMI/SCADA and control systems for industrial sites in Hawke's Bay and around New Zealand, from first commissioning to ongoing support.

Services

What we offer, what each service covers, and what you get.

PLC programming and commissioning

Control software written, tested and brought online on site.

You get tested, documented software and an engineer on site to take it from the workshop to running production.

What it covers

  • New control programs for machines and processes
  • Changes and upgrades to existing PLC programs
  • I/O lists, sequences, interlocks and alarms
  • Testing before delivery, then start-up on site

HMI / SCADA

Screens and monitoring so your team can see and control the plant.

You get clear screens built around how your operators work, so faults are easier to spot and the plant is easier to run.

What it covers

  • Operator panel and touchscreen design
  • Plant overview, trends and alarm screens
  • Telemetry and data analytics integration
  • Data logging and reporting
  • Updates to existing HMI and SCADA systems

Industrial automation

Machines and processes set up to run consistently with less manual handling.

You get a practical solution scoped to your site and budget, with a clear plan from design to start-up.

What it covers

  • Automating manual or semi-manual processes
  • Integrating sensors, drives and instruments
  • Upgrading older PLCs to modern controllers
  • Network, firewall and VLAN setup for control systems
  • Improving reliability of existing automation

Electrical and control systems

Electrical and control work that supports your automation.

You get properly specified and tested control systems, with the documentation your maintenance team needs.

What it covers

  • Control system design and specification
  • Control panel and wiring documentation
  • Testing and verification of control circuits
  • Working alongside your electrical contractor

Troubleshooting and support

Fault finding and support when something stops working.

You get a direct line to the engineer who knows your system, so downtime is as short as possible.

What it covers

  • Diagnosing faults in PLCs, HMIs and field devices
  • Fixing intermittent and repeat problems
  • Breakdown analysis and network drawings
  • Documentation, including safe operating procedures
  • Support after commissioning

How a job runs

Every project follows the same five steps, from first conversation to handover.

  1. Discuss

You tell us what needs automating or fixing. We ask the right questions about your site and equipment.

  2. Scope and quote

You get a clear scope, timeline and price before any work starts.

  3. Design and program

Control software and screens are built and tested against the agreed scope.

  4. Commission

We bring the system online on site and check it with your team.

  5. Hand over and support

You receive documentation and backups, and support stays available afterwards.

Why Tecnic

A small business run by an engineer with more than ten years in industrial automation, so the person you talk to is the person doing the work.

Direct contact

You deal with Nick from the first call to commissioning, with no hand-offs between account managers and engineers.

Documented work

Programs are commented, backed up and handed over so your team is never locked out of its own system.

Support that continues

If something goes wrong after start-up, you call the same engineer who built it.

Questions

How do I get a quote?

Send an enquiry using the form below, or call or email Nick. Describe what you want automated or fixed and Nick will reply with next steps.

Can you work on equipment that is already installed?

Yes. Existing PLCs, HMIs and machines can be updated, repaired or extended. Tell us what you have and we will confirm what is possible.

Do you offer support after commissioning?

Yes. Troubleshooting and support are part of what Tecnic does, so you can come back to the same engineer after the job is finished.

What should I have ready when I get in touch?

A short description of the problem or project is enough. Equipment details, photos and any existing drawings or program backups help.
